Why do people think it’s so easy to leave your job when you want to pursue something new? As if you don’t have bills to pay and mouths to feed!
The bad news is that it is not the best idea to leave your job before you’ve already established yourself somewhere else. The good news is that doesn’t mean you cannot or should not pursue something new.
Educational skills help to get your foot in the door, but essential life skills are what get you the gig. It is not uncommon for less qualified individuals to be more successful than their abundantly educated rivals. Essential life skills are what differentiates them from the crowd.
You may be ambitious for instance, but ambition without goals is like running a race and not knowing where it ends. You are more likely to become fatigued, demotivated and ultimately, give up. Setting clear goals keeps you focused and in control. You know where it begins, where it ends, and what the outcome will be.
